TTGDFC JUNIORS COVID-19 FAQs
Do you know when the season will start?
SANFL Juniors (U7-U16.5 Mixed, Boys and Girls competitions) are postponed until 31st May, as well as NAB AFL Auskick for the health and well-being of junior players, volunteers and officials.
This will continually be reviewed based on the changing circumstances of and advice from SANFL who are seeking advice from government and health authorities.
Does the postponement extend to training as well as playing matches?
Yes, training has also been postponed. We will continue to review this decision based on the changing circumstances and advice from SANFL, government and relevant health authorities. In light of this there will be no training of any type sanctioned by the Junior Football Committee and we request that private group training sessions are also not undertaken.
What will the new fixture/rounds look like when it comes out?
This will not be known until after a decision is made to reopen the season.
What about my Club membership, will I get reimbursed?
The decision to postpone the season has been made very quickly so we will be working through this issue, in consultation with SANFL, and will update members in due course.
Has our club already incurred costs for this season?
Yes. Planning for the next season starts in November the year before, as such there have been many purchases made in the lead up to this event e.g. new footballs, guernseys, oval hire, coach accreditation, medical equipment etc.
Will Football Clubs be compensated financially?
No. We have been advised that in line with there being no financial compensation for SANFL and its clubs, there will be no financial compensation provided to clubs. The SANFL has recommended clubs reduce operations to reduce the financial impact as much as possible. TTGDFC Juniors is reviewing its budgets and operations in order to address this issue.
