Unofficially
we have heard that the clubroom upgrade is due for completion
at the end of this month. The work is now proceeding rapidly
and you can now really see how much bigger the area now is.
It has taken a long time and a lot of effort from many people
but looks like paying off. What a great new facility to start
the 2010 season!
If
you have a moment then pop up and take a look for yourself.
I am sure you will agree that the wait was well worth it.

Sportsman
Club revamp set for July
Tea
Tree Gully’s football and cricket club will soon be the
envy of their opposing sides following the $1 million revamp
to their clubrooms. The Tea Tree Gully Sportsman Club and its
occupants will benefit from the extensive upgrades made possible
by the combined funding of $500k from the Australian Government,
$275k from the football and cricket clubs and $270k from Council.
The
major refurbishment will see the upper level of the clubhouse
extended to create a larger dining area, a cold room and provision
for increased amenities along with a complete kitchen upgrade.
The
lower level change rooms will also be rejuvenated with new tiling,
plumbing, fittings, coat of paint and a new ceiling. The works
will also include the provision of DDA access into both the
building and amenities. Steventon Ward Councillor, Jim McClafferty
says the upgrade is a major coup for the club. He said; “Council
and both the football and cricket clubs have worked very closely
together in planning the works and upgrades for the Sportsman
Club. “Once it’s completed both the clubs and local
community will be able to use and benefit from this $1 million
injection into the area.”
Works
on the site are scheduled to begin at the end of July and be
completed by November.
