The challenges facing today’s teenagers have never been so great, boredom, peer pressure, lack of respect and purpose, alcohol and drugs are all issues contributing to an increasing level of adolescent crime in our society.
The Norwood Football Club believe that being a member of a team, in a responsible well run football club, is an excellent way to assist young men to develop positively into adulthood.
In conjunction with the Tea Tree Gully, Modbury, Hope Valley and Golden Grove Football Clubs, Norwood has developed a program called ‘Operation 100TEN’, designed to promote the social and individual benefits associated with being a member of a team.
The message is,
‘Give 100% to your team, club and community, and you’ll Get 110% back’
‘Operation 100TEN’ will focus on key themes such as respect, team values, mateship, club responsibility and community mindedness.
Ex Redleg and Crows star, Nathan Bassett and members of the Norwood senior team will work with over 300 boys aged between 11-14 years, and their football clubs, throughout season 2010.
Youth crime is a serious issue - Operation 100TEN aims to promote the value of being part of a team, and importantly focus on the crucial role that sporting club’s can play in providing the right environment in which young people can develop.

Keith Thomas, Norwood Football Club Director, said, "100TEN provides an opportunity for 5 major local clubs in the Norwood zone to work together to create a club environment that will encourage our young players to really value their team and the community they live in.
We’re very excited about launching ‘Operation 100TEN’ and the support we are receiving from the State Government, through the Attorney General’s Department, who are assisting Norwood in developing this project."
